Welcome to Creative Motion School of Dance

Our Mission

Creative Motion School of Dance, under the direction of Kari Goodman, believes in providing our students with professional, quality dance instruction in a welcoming, non-competitive, wholesome environment. All students of Creative Motion School of Dance are welcomed in to our studio family as equals. Each student, regardless of which style of dance or what level of achievement they desire, is instructed in a caring environment based on established standards of technique and creative artistry, giving them the tools and knowledge to succeed in a variety of performing opportunities they may encounter upon graduation.

Our Classes

Creative Motion School of Dance offers two tracks of dance study, a Recreational Track and a Competitive Track. BOTH our Recreational and Competitive students receive the highest quality training in technique and performance, and BOTH our Classic and Competitive students have the opportunity to perform multiple times a year while studying varying styles of dance. The difference comes with the financial and time commitment to the group!

Our Opportunities

In addition to our Recreational and Competitive Dance classes, we also offer enrichment opportunities for our students. We've traveled to New York City to perform in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and participated in a Flashmob in Time's Square. We've traveled to Orlando, Florida to perform at Downtown Disney and attend classes at Disney Performing Arts Center. We've attended classes, conventions, competitions and performances. We are always looking for ways to give our students new learning and performing opportunities!

Summer Dance

Just because the recital is over doesn't mean you need to put away your dance shoes!  Join us for classes this summer to learn new skills and perfect those you have!

Classic Technique Classes

We offer a variety of classes for all age levels.  With two stage performances a year, plus optional community performances, our recreational dancers are provided with multiple opportunities to showcase the technique and artistry learned throughout their studies.

Pre-School Classes

Babies love a beat!  Not only does dance offer an avenue for children to expand their movement skills, but it also has been proven to support psychological health and maturity and foster social interaction and cooperation.  Dancing integrates several brain functions at once — kinesthetic, rational, musical, and emotional — further increasing your neural connectivity.

Competition Teams

We began taking dancers to competitions back in 2006 as a means to give the "more serious" dancers, or those for whom dance class was their primary extra-curricular activity, the opportunity to perform more, and for larger scale audiences.  The small group of 7 dancers has increased at times to nearly 40 and has become for them more than just additional performing opportunities.  Competition has proven to be valuable in building self-esteem, fostering a sense of "team", reinforcing the importance of learning proper technique and instilling a strong work ethic.

Creative Motion School of Dance opened its doors in June of 2002 in less than 500 square feet of space, with just 50 students offering classes in Creative Movement. When Creative Motion celebrated their 15th anniversary at their 2017 spring recital ‘Do It Again, But BETTER', we had grown to two studio spaces covering more than 2000 square feet and we have seen more than 700 different students through our doors! We currently offer classes in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Contemporary, Pointe, Acrodance, Music & Movement, Dance FItness and more!
